Hi All,

I'm the proud and fortunate new owner of a Genesis 3.1 scooter and was motivated to make something to keep my pricey new toy secure when not in use. I've had commercially available stands for previous scooters and was never really happy with them so I set out to make my own.

In a previous job I had the opportunity to work quite a bit with Expanded Polypropylene (EPP). EPP is an amazing material because it 1. is relatively inexpensive to produce large parts with 2. has relatively good immunity to UV radiation (like from direct sunlight) 3. is stable across a wide range of environmental conditions 4. is fairly rigid even in low density versions and 5. has a pretty squishy and non-marking surface in common stiffnesses. A perfect material to support a scooter IMHO.

The stand I made below uses 6" (150mm) diameter 304 stainless hose clamps with 1/4" (6.35mm) marine-grade shock cord tying them together. I've driven the clamps into the foam to make sure the EPP is the only thing that touches the body of the scooter. The rollers are Amazon Basics ones that measure 6x18" (150x457mm). All in this cost me about $40 USD.

Hope this brings some inspiration for your setup!

PS here's a cool youtube video on the EPP molding process:

Magnificent I want some too, I was troubled recently, my insecure scooter was troubled to

So we went to the gym pretended to do some buffing up and escaped with some of these

Foam rubber sausages, with some experimentation, two in the bottom, garnished with fins

But what makes me happiest is finally getting the normal straps, on the Seawing Nova fins

and my compass arrived today
