Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of making the jump from a Mares Dragon to Hollis.

I mostly dive single tank right now, but I'm thinking of this route with the a future in Tech in mind.

When I was looking at this setup, I noticed that both the BP and the wing with have cam band slots, so I wasn't sure if I still needed the STA or not.

Edit: Cant his BP be used for doubles as well? Is it recommended?

Thanks :)

The STA gives a little more stability, but can be used without it also... Just druthers, I suppose. Yes the BP can certainly be used for doubles,... however you will likely need a larger wing. For most steel cylinders, a 55- 60 lb wing will work. That is the great thing about a backplate & wing. It is very modular & once you get the harness set for yourself,.... it is a custom fit!

I use a Hollis SS BP and wing. Used an STA on the set-up at first, then did some dives without it just fine so have since ditched it.
