Since I've not been before & I got a good deal at the Emerald Beach Resort, I'm going to stay on St. Thomas this first time but will try to spend some time on St. John. I get tired of the touristy/crowded/commercialism of the cruise boat industry & the ports that cater to them. However, my first time somewhere I like to be in the 'center of things' or I feel like I didn't experience it -- see what it was all about. Repeat trips I may stay on St. John. (Although it's tough to keep checking out new places when it's so tempting to simply return to the Caymans).

I'm planning on diving with Blue Island Divers as they got good reviews here & they are based out of the Emerald Beach Resort. However, they don't dive the Rhone, so I'm going to do that w/ Chris Sawyer.
