I only snorkelled there prior to my OW. Nice shore dive on the French (N.) side, but don't bring your topside camera. Nude beach.

We love Octopus Diving in Grand Case. More info on our site. We were there in February and my girlfriend just went back to do her rescue diver course with them. I'm sure there are other good ones on the island, Chris and Sally at Octopus are friends with some of them. I think there are also some that are not as good. If you are going to be on the Dutch side and don't want to go to the French side to dive, I bet you could email Octopus and they would recommend a good operation on the Dutch side. Definitely email me if you have any questions.

go to Blue Bubble Watersport and dive center in Sint Maarten, Dutch side and ask for Instructor Nimo. He is fun. Ask him to take you to Carib Cargo and Maze as dive sites. I think you will enjoy it. ask for Nimo, he is Brazilian fun guy. I booked on-line and everything was great, just the lady ask million questions but at the end all was ok. Free pick up as well.

When you are in St Maarten there are a couple great shops. To be honest it really depends on what you are looking for in a dive shop. Not every diver is suited for every dive shop.

Octopus Diving is an excellent shop I have booked some of my people there and they had nothing but good things to say about them.

I also book people with Blue Bubbles that was mentioned in this post as well; another great operation

There is another shop that I book some of my people with which is Scuba Fun. Scuba Fun is also a 1st class operation.

All great operations and we only work with the best. But with that being said I have very specific reason for booking some people with one shop and other people with other shops. So how do you choose between great dive shops?

I am born in St Maarten and I have worked for quiet a few shops on the island 2 of them on the above list.

Please feel free to drop me a line and we can discuss details if you like.

I spent two weeks in Grand Case ( Grand Case Beach Club is a great resort) around easter, I went to Octopus Diving because they are really leose by : did a two tank dive on two very shallow reefs just in front of the dive shop those reefs are for beginners that's actually where the Watersport at the hotel goes for snorkeling tours. ... Octopus has a nice team but they go too often to the same spots probably to save time and money.
Looking for a change, I tried Neptune Dive center and was not very impressed. No surface support and what if the mooring breaks ???
Then I did a few wondfull dives on the Dutch side... a great operation ( don't remember the name) next to a famous restaurant called Chesterfields ( go try the sea food platter)

Go to Scuba Fun at Radisson Marina, I really had a great time with them. Great boat, brand new equipment, friendly team.. we've seen lots of different dive sites and the boat is ..huge

Hey Phil, actually that also where I was : Scuba Fun but the other one : Philipsburg. The big boat : Coral Palm" is really great
