Hi,
My wife and i will be in st lucia to volunteer and vacation next month. we are looking to do some diving and wanted to get some recommendations, on dive operators and dive sites. We will be in merigot bay and might have time to night dive (if lucky an afternoon dive), and then in Soufriere. We have read some good things about action adventure divers, but would appreciate any advise!!!

Thanks,

azdive

Best dive sites are on the south end (near Pitons). You should be close in Marigot Bay and Soufriere. We did go into Marigot Bay on the boat but did not dive it and were told that there were alot of Barrucuda. The vis close to shore was terrible (near zero). I can't tell if you intended to dive inside Marigot Bay or not but something to think about or ask the dive op.
I don't have a specific dive op to recommend. There are some St. Lucia threads from earlier this year and possibly late last year in the Lesser Antilles forum on these topics.

Agree with the previous poster - the best sites are definitely down south, near the Pitons. I dove up north several times, north of Castries, and found the viz to be 1/2 to 1/3 of the southern viz. Check out the Lesleen M, a well known wreck on the west side of the island. I really enjoyed that dive, as the wreck sits upright and has a lot of life. Fairly shallow - I think the max depth at the sand was 65'. I can't recommend a dive operator, as my wife and I dove through the resort we were at (Rendezvous Resort, highly rated) and I'm pretty sure their dive program is limited to resort guests.

Dive fair Helene operates out of Marigot bay. They will take you to the pitons as well as some really cool spots up north. Ask about the wrecks. They also serve an awesome lunch on your surface interval.
