Hey everyone just wondering how much it usually costs to dive the St. Lawrence seaway I saw some charters that were 2200 for three days I didnt think it would cost anything thing like that is there any just like dive shops that take you out on a daily basis?? Also is this a good place to dive??

You didn't fill out your profile. Are you thinking of diving from the Canadian side or American side?
The 2200 is to hire the entire boat for 3 days. Most of the dive shops will do walk ons.
I dive from Rockport & Brockville on the Canadian side.
The St. Lawrence has some of the best fresh water wreck diving in the world.

check out www.scubaq.ca/ontarioscubadiving/index.htm

70-80$ per two dive day on the CAD side

If you want to do 3 days on a liveaboard, I know an operator that does it for roughly $180 per day per person incl. food. Not much better than camping in terms of sleeping arrangements on the boat but the food was really good. We averaged just over 3 dives per day.

Helen @ Abuc's has a 2 tank dive package incl. lodging and breakfast and lunch for $150 cdn per day per person based upon double occupancy.

We've managed $300 for 3 days of diving incl. shore dives two years in a row now. There are deals to be found! :)

I am on the US side I live in columbus ohio and I am very interested in going

also what is the water temp like there say june - sept. can it be dove in a 6.5 mm or is it dry suit only

There is some free shore diving from Alexandria Bay, NY. It's an easy shore walk in. What's nice is that you can find artifacts there. Of course, you can grab some charters on the American Side with a few operators. Some notable dives like the Keystorm, America come to mind. The Roy A. Jodrey is an amazing deep wreck. Contact Hunts Diving as well as Dan Humble's shop on the Canadian side.

p.s. drysuit is always your best bet with the exception of summer. I did some working dives in November and December....brrrh.

I did my AOW in July at Brockville, On. It was a great experience! I think the water was 74 degrees F all the way down to 93'. The current was cool too. if you let go of the Mooring line you were gone.....I know what a flag must feel like. I never saw so many cars with dive flag bumpers stickers in my life. I'm going to go there again for sure.

Dove with Abucs scuba this summer http://www.divebrockville.com/ from the Canadian side. Some great diving and allot less than $2200 for three days. They also do a package deal with multiple days of diving and lodging at the local Econo Lodge.

Water temp was about 65deg in mid September, vis was probably 60-70 feet (hard to guage it when you are used to 15-20).
