This last weekend my gf and I wound up at a charity auction at the LA Zoo and walked away from the event with a seven night accommodations at either Maho Bay Camps or Concordia on St. John, VI.

Researching more and more about these two places to stay, we are staying at Concordia based on availability. Understanding we will need a rental to get around and will break the "city life lifestyle," this will be a good way to leave the hustle and bustle behind.

More importantly.... we want to dive around the island, including St. Thomas as well.
A few questions I have....

What are your recommended beach dive sites?
Recommended Dive Ops that are Nitrox equipped? If not, not a biggy
Wreak Dives sites?
Fishing Ops.
Hiking, biking, nightlife, all other activities?

As for us... were both AOW, Deep, Nitrox, and wreck certified.

Any of your recommendations are greatly appreciated.

The complete Virgin Islands - St John scuba diving guide covering dive sites and dive centers

Maho.org - Scuba Diving - Maho Bay Camps - Green Resorts on St. John, US Virgin Islands (USVI)

My recommendations would be: Cruz Bay Watersports - St. John, US Virgin Islands on St. John and: St. Thomas Diving Club, Scuba and Snorkeling in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands on St. Thomas.

Probably the only viable beach dive would be at: Scuba Shore Diving Site Page for: Coki Beach of St Thomas, Caribbean

The best Scuba Diving in the Caribbean world is in St. Thomas Virgin Islands One persons opinion maybe a bit exaggerated:)

The best wreck dive would be: OnlineBVI.net - Video Hosting for the British Virgin Islands THE R.M.S. RHONE but it is in the neighboring British Virgin Islands. Check with the St. John and St. Thomas Dive Operators to find out if they go to the R.M.S. Rhone. You will need a passport to make the trip.

There are several wrecks dived from St. Thomas: St Thomas Scuba Trips Guided Snorkeling Tours USVI Dive Packages

The Major General Rogers: St Thomas Scuba Diving would be available from both St. John and East End st. Thomas Dive Operators.

Please feel free to send me a message if you have any further questions. I was a Boat Captain/Dive Guide out of St. Thomas and St. John in the early 80's :blinking:

Coki Point Beach St. Thomas, Virgin Islands! on Vimeo

This is a fairly good beach dive once you get past the 30/30/30 Divers from the Cruise Ships: 30 feet for 30 minutes for $30 :eyebrow::blinking::D

Diver Operators motto was: You ship 'em we dip 'em :rofl3:

I'm headed there as well. July 5th-12th. I am there for a wedding, but hope to snag a dive or two. How good is the diving in general? Ie is it worth me making several dives cause there are spectacular spots or is it classic carib (no offense... just that I dont see my family too much so I dont want to bail on them too much unless the diving is killer).

Thanks!
J
