evad:any preferences, and why? They're the same price. Thanks.
Green_Manelishi:The SS is probably heavier. The SS will probably rust ... especially when
you have wet line laying against it. Keep in mind that StainLESS steel
usually means stainLESS ... not corrosion FREE.
The only advantage I'd see to SS is that it probably won't break if you
throw the spool. But then I'd have to ask why are you throwing your
equipment?
evad:That's what I was thinking, but is there any advantage to SS besides it looks neat?. ( I found one that is 1 1/4 narrow with 100' of # 18 line which is why I'm asking. I like the size.)
DennisS:Where did you find it? I tried stealth dive and he's no longer making them. I want to get one. I think its pretty much a matter of preference, I prefer stainless (CRES) over plastic.

Green_Manelishi:#18 line is thin and 100ft is not much line. You are planning on using
the spools as a 'gap jumper' rather than for shooting a lift bag, correct?
evad:That was my next question. How light is #18 line and is it strong enough for shooting a 50 lb. delayed surface marker buoy in a strong current. For now, that's all I would want it for. I don't get much below 100'. Thanks for bothering this question.
evad:Stealthdive. Oh well. Maybe I'll go make one at a sculptor friends house. Labor
should only be about $600.00.
