Is anyone planning on being there this weekend ? I need to dive and my buddy's regs are in for their annual.

Bus,

I hope to get down to Whitestar when MSU99 gets his gear back. I don't feel like driving down there alone, the instabuddy thing doesn't always work out well. Besides, my car doesn't get the best mileage as it is. I have yet to see Spring Mill pond so I'm just curious about it anyway. I can get there in less than an hour.

I miss Monroe already. I could go down there and maybe talk Brandin into diving with me. I learned plenty from him without him even realizing it.

The weather is not going to be great, but in a drysuit that does not mater.

kidsdream,

I just checked the weather again - it looks like a lot of lightning on Mon. I drove over to SMP yesterday, met some nice people and got to dive. So I feel better now.

Looks like you've got a nice dive planned Sunday anyway.

So Boat how did you like the Pond? Easy in, easy out. Anything fun in the water? An hour or so more you could have been at Whitestar dropping into the stone crusher. (sounds like a wrestler's name).

The Pond is entertaining during the summer when the coeds hit the beach and want to check out the bubbles. My wife will occassionally hit me or threaten to turn off my air when I suggest a swim through. Oh well.

Bus,

The Pond was perfect for my first tune-up dive of the season. I do plan on heading down to Whitestar as soon as possible but it's 100 miles further than SMP for me.

I actually snorkeled around a bit while waiting for someone to show up to dive with. Ever snorkel in a full 7 mil FJ/J ? Never again. I had on 19# and still struggled to get down. Found a picnic table at 22 ft which amused me. Didn't realize how deep I'd gotten. It's a fun ride back up though, as the suit decompresses.

Beach activity was light but still entertaining and friendly.
