I'm rebuilding my Beuchat V10 and found that the chrome plating on the intermediate pressure spring carrier is flaking off. I haven't been able to find a new one from the manufacturer so I'm wondering if one from another would work? If I can match the spring diameter the spring carrier should work. My spring diameter is just over 5/8" (.630" to .640"). Does anyone know (or can check) the spring diameter in an Apeks 1st stage? If it's the right size the AP1476 should work. I'd also be interested if there is another brand that would work where the parts wouldn't be that difficult to buy.

why not just let it be or just strip it to brass and leave it?
I don't want to leave it because every time I handle it I find more little chrome pieces coming off and don't like the idea of those chrome pieces in my work area. Thought about stripping it but I can't see the part when assembled. I'd have to partially disassembly then reset the intermediate pressure every time I want to see if there is any corrosion that needs to be cleaned up.
