I'm a 40 year old college student (keep your comments to yourself :D) and will be on spring break from March 15-23rd.

My issue is that all of the whipper-snapper college students are going on vacation during this time and will be wreaking havoc across the Caribbeans. I would prefer to avoid the chaos by either going somewhere less visited or at least to a quiet resort. Somewhere warm with good diving and has a beach. The soul purpose of my trip will be to dive so I don't care much about the nightlife and sight seeing.

I will be going on the trip by myself and prefer to stay at an all-inclusive. I'm looking to spend about $2000.00 for air and hotel from Minneapolis.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Check out Sandals or Couples in Negril. All-inclusive includes diving and gear. Checkout some reviews:

ScubaBoard - Greater Antilles

Cozumel is always a good option except that the beaches are on the east side of the island while the diving is on the west.

Both should be in your price range but its getting a little late to book for spring break.

(just checked your profile. Seems you've already been to my suggested spots. sorry.)

I'm not suggesting anything specific. We just booked a trip today, for that period through the travelocity sight without any problems. It is getting late, so don't delay too long. For an all inclusive, with diving we enjoyed Beaches Turks and Caicos. They had a pretty good inclusive package, that had some good diving. A bit of a family oriented resort, but I'm in the water all the time anyway, so who cares as long as the diving is good and the food more than acceptable?

Spending that quantity of money should put you in a different league than most spring break locations.

Some good suggestions so far.

Thanks for the suggestions and yes, I would prefer to go somewhere that I haven't been before.

I forgot about CoCoView! What flight carrier did you use and how did you get to the resort from the airport? Sorry, I have only used services such as Apple Vacations and FunJet (they set up your transportation for you).

For COCO View both Delta and Continental fly directly into Roatan from the US. Book directly on their site!

Delta from Atlanta

Continental from Houston.

The staff at COCO View will pick you up at the airport and deliver you to the resort and will take you back to the airport on departure day. It's included in the base price of the week. They use a bus that will hold about 15-20 guests when Delta and Continental arrive.

There is a departure tax that has to be paid in cash - I don't remember the amount but its between $30 and $40 US

Generally best not to drive there if you don't know the law. Very different from here. PM Roatanman for more info. I know just enough that I hire a driver if needed.

Thanks for the info! I PM'd Roatanman. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say as I have no idea what you are talking about (laws):D
