I saw this device in a sailing magazine. It's small enough to be carried by an ocean diver. I just called and they are waterproof to 200 feet. A follow up call confirmed 1 meter for 30 minutes Obviously can only be used on the surface. I need to find a waterproof container.

I just bought one.

200 feet? the only reference to being waterproof I can see on the site is waterproof to 1 metre for 30 minutes;

I'm intrigued by the device but the water resistance quoted is hardly useful for divers.

Found a Mcmurdo dive canister from Marine Electronics Unlimited for $200 rated to 150M. The diameter fits the Spot perfectly and I will probably place it on my BC or Tank.
