I just don't log dives
elected to take the boat out this morning despite the highly inaccurate marine forecast. sunny skies, SW winds 11-15KTS( 5KTS depicted in the forecast!) and initially 1 FT seas increasing to 2-3FT. very quiet on the SG(and elsewhere on the outer reefs) today, only 6 divers near the end of the 1st dive(ocean divers), entire ship to ourselves on the 2nd. double on buoy SG4(portside crane): light to mdt reverse current, nice blue water, viz 65-70+ FT decreasing on dive #2 to 50FT on the wreck(dusty layer), water temp cooling to 85F @ 60-102FT and very few moon jellies, for a change. pics from TIMG,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Very nice pix..... so the golden tail eel was on the SG? Where was it located??

the goldentail was located near the top of the portside crane attached to mooring buoy SG4 @ 65-70FT. the SG is highly underrated for macro subjects,,,,,

Thank you sportxlh. What reefman said :)
Tiny little eel, smallest I have ever seen. This is our preferred mooring ball, as it is away from where a lot of the commercial boats go (#6), a good place to hang out at the end of the dive.

I occasionally see those small goldentail morays (and purple mouth eels) in Jupiter or WPB on the reefs. I've never seen one on a wreck though..... very cool. I also don't see spotted drums on wrecks very often either.

here's a few more macro captures from the SPIEGEL GROVE during previous dives,,,,,,,,,,,

reverse current was near zero 1st dive increasing to mdt by the end of the 2nd. overall currents on the deep wrecks have been minimal all week. heading to the duane or SG shortly, will post conditions tonite,,,,,
