I'm going to be diving the Spiegel Grove and the Duane the 26th and 27th of October. Anyone interested in going along? All my buddy's are committed that weekend and can't make it, so I need a buddy or several for that matter. If you want to dive that weekend let me know. We'll be diving out of Tavernier Creek, with either Tavernier Dive Center or Conch Republic Divers. Both are good dive ops. :tree: Bob.

It was nice reading your post on the Bonaire trip too.

Bob I have a question for you. Pam asked me if it was possible to dive with manatees. She would really like to do this if it is possible. I drag her all over making new kinds of dives a lot. I would like to drag her to a dive she requests at least once in a while hehehe

Are you going to wmII or wreckmania continues this year? I think we are. When the dates get finalized we can set it up. If at all possible I would make our stay longer to do Pammies requested dive.

Charlie,
Good to hear from you! I wish you could make it to, but that would be a looong weekend from Mass. I'll be around for the last two days of Wreckmania II and for all of Wreckmania continues. You and Pam going to make Bonaire next year? We had a blast this time around. I think you and Pam would love the group dive trip. Charlie, to catch the Manatees, we'll need to plan for when it's cold. The Manatees won't come into the rivers and springs until the sea water gets to say, 65F or so. That's when they gather in the springs. Our coldest weather down here is January through mid or late February. I have found that it's better to snorkle with the Manatees vs. dive, as the sound of regulators breathing tends to make them standoffish. There's lots of rules concerning Manatees down here. There's tree huggers on every rock making sure us divers don't harress or mistreat the poor things. If you need any more info let me know. Look forward to seeing you next summer. :tree: Bob.

Mike,
Will do.

a few of us (3-5 divers) are looking to go to SG on the 26th but were thinking to use a shop closer to the site (long haul from Tavernier). I haven't looked for a trip yet though (tomorrow I will call around).

Do you already have a confirmed trip with one of the Tavernier shops?

Tom

Looks like I'll miss you guys. I'll be looking for your trip reports.
I'll be there with David on Thanksgiving and the day after.
I was thinking of the company Brent from this board works for. Is it Blue Water Divers?
Or maybe Sea Dwellers since I will be staying where they are located.
Any thoughts?

BlueWater Divers is located next to the Holiday Inn, mile marker 100 oceanside, right behind the African Queen. We are currently available to dive the Spiegel Grove on the aforementioned dates.

Check out the pre-sinking shot of the Grove on our homepage at www.bluewaterdiver.net. This is the side of the wreck you'll see as you descend on her (that's our boat in the foreground).

I'd love to meet you two... having enjoyed your posts, and Tom's "Histories & Mysteries" book immensely. Stop by and introduce yourselves if you have the opportunity

Brent:
I tried to call that 888 number and it didn't work. Also is it just me.. the web link you just gave us also doesn't work for me.

I am also very interested in trying out your dive op while I'm down there. Will anyone from your shop be going to DEMA this year?
Thx!

Not just you Natasha, I could not open the web site either. Wanted to check it out, guess I will try again later.
