KEY LARGO, Fla. – A 62-year-old man died Monday after losing consciousness while diving at the Spiegel Grove wreck off Key Largo, authorities said.

Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said they were notified just before noon that a diver from a commercial dive boat was being brought to shore while CPR was in progress.

The man, identified as Richard Eric Unis, was taken to Mariners Hospital in Tavernier, where he was pronounced dead at 1:38 p.m.

Deputies said foul play is not suspected. They said the cause of death remains under investigation with autopsy results pending.
