I am finding out, that the pull dump on the base of my dive rite inflator hose is the slowest one... It allows only a small trickle of bubble through.

The deflator button lets out air fast... And so does the butt dump.

Are these findings similar on your BCD's too?? Certainly would make a big different on bouyancy control fine tuning.

The deflater button is supposed to dump air just faster then a full inflate would put it in, so if you have an inflater free-flow, you can dump fast enough to avoid a ride (I keep meaning to test this on my Oxycheq).

As to the pull dump on the hose, don't worry. Some day, if you pull hard enough on the hose, it will dump plenty of air. ;)

Get rid of the pull dump. It's not needed. Replace with a standard elbow. Keep pulling on your and like Rick says you'll dump soon enough and need to replace it.

Not all my BCs have pull dumps, and I've never used one when it was available. (It just seemed like a bad idea to pull on something that useful.)

The OPVs dump faster than the hose, of course.

Every dive for me starts with a yank on my right shoulder OPV. (Dump, slide horizontal, hit chest inflator valve after a couple of feet, and away we go!) :)

Cheers,
Austin
