Spearfishing in St.Lawrence river

You can always try the St.Lawrence in Quebec. Spear/pole fishing is allowed with a regular fishing license witg a couple of exceptions.,

Alittle farther away but I was just e-mailed by the Minnesota DNR informing me spearfishing is in deed legal in Lake Superior for "rough" fish. I guess eelpout etc. I just cant spell burbout?????

It is my understanding that you can not even own the equipment in NY. RULES
