Ill be coming to Florida in une to do some spearfishing. It will be my first time and I dont want to get into a bind by shooting the wrong fish or undersized fish. Does anybody know of a website that shows pictures of legal fish to take? Any help would be greatly appreciated

PM me your address and I will send you a book regulations and pictures. When and where are you going in Florida?

You'll need a license. I'd recommend concentrating on learning a couple target fish to start and expanding as you gain comfort.

I'll chime in from the Florida East coast if that's where you'll diving. You already know there are tons of fish types down there. If your eastcoasting it, try to concentrate on 5 types of fish. Amberjacks, Gag & Red Grouper, Sheepshead, Mangrove & Mutton Snappers, and Hogfish.

Read everything about them and study their pictures till your eyes are red. These are the most encountered fish on this side and will give you the best chance of bringing something home. You should be able to find Mangroves and Sheepshead on every dive from West Palm down through Miami as they are plentiful on this side.

What every one else said above is excellent advice and resources. If you are diving on the Gulf side, others can hopefully give you good tips.

Where in Florida? That'll help narrow down your targets. Also, regarding licenses, either purchase one from a retailer, or go online http://myfwc.com/license/. Or just go with a charter who has their own fishing license.

'm working in the lower keys this summer ... how is the spearfishing, is it allowed, where is best, etc.
in the Keys, Marathon is the best for spearfishing

In the Keys - anywhere from Duck Key to Key West there is good spearfishing. But it's like any other kind of fishing, some spots hold alot more and bigger fish depending on pressure, water temp, bait movement, etc.
As you've been advised. Make sure you have a license and know seasons, sizes & quotas or you will most likely have an expensive lesson.
