For a couple of afternoon Mojito's nobody makes them better than Alex at the El Casino. It's on 5th south of the square.

Casa Denis (touristy area, but not a lot of tourists) very cheap and awesome food (it is around the cruise ship area on a side street), Coconuts and Senor Frogs (past coconuts- we usually stay at the Occ. Grand and they are closer for us than downtown). Yummy food and GOOD cheap drinks.

Thanks Sally! I just like the way they stack up the cases of empty bottles you drink to tally your bill. The appetizers and entertainment is great, and usually don't see anyone but locals in there.

Coconuts – East side of the island – most popular
All Sports Bar-used to be “The Stadium” - Downtown – calle 2 and 5 Avenida
Las Boyas – cantina- Calle 3 between 15 and 20
El Casino – downtown – on 5th, south of the square
Casa Denis – downtown – great people watching

we got quite the show the last time we were at Casa Denis- the bank security came running down the street with their shotguns at port arms. They were transferring the money. It was pretty cool to watch. I wanted to take their picture, but was a little afraid seeing the expressions on their faces and the shotguns right their.
