For Dee

There's a lot to like about these guys.
Night dive on Johnston Atoll.:boom:

All the Spanish Dancers I've seen have been brightly colored and not near that big. They sure look different at night!

Here is one from the Philippines - at least I think it is a Spanish Dancer but am not 100% sure.

Not taking into account underwater measurment correction (i.e. reducing by 30%) - this one looked to be about 6 inches long when encountered.

EDIT _ THIS IS NOT A SPANISH DANCER - AFTER SOME HARD WORK I FINALLY IDENTIFIED IT AS A MEMBER OF THE CERATOSOMA FAMILY. -

Here's one and friends?
There are two in this photo, one is up behind the urchin. There is also a small Barber poll shrimp.

well out means it looks like a clip from an old Jaque Coust.. video from the 50's or 60's.

correct me if i am wrong, but they are supposed to be red aren't they?

like the one from the sharm

They seemed to change color during the shoot. Maybe they get brighter as they get stressed? I've only seen three so far and they all seemed the same colo(u)r (SP?). The shot from Rooster seemed about right to me.:boom:

I understand there is a wide colour variation by location - if you check out Debelious' Indian Ocean guide he has a photo of a Mozambique channel variety that is bright orange.
