I cannot find too much info on this resort. We found a deal, all inclusive from Los Angeles 8 nites for 2900 for 2, air included. Has anyone used their on site dive op? I think it is called Resort Sports. Are there other operators nearby? We haven't been back to GC since 1979, but did stop into this place when circling the island.

I was there two times about 8 years ago. remember seeing a Manta ray feeding right of the peir. To bad I had just gotten out of the water. Went down on a Delta vacation package. There shore diving was good. Also did a night dive from there. There are little finger trenches that you follow down to there mini wall. Remember it was a few years back but I had no complaints. Guess that is why I went there two times.You know dive shop people...They are there one year and gone the next to another island.

My wife and I do the shore dive at Spanish Bay Reef regularly. It's 1 of the best shore dives on GC: you cross a hardpan flat, drop down a mini-wall to about 50 feet, swim out across 1 of the coral fingers, and then drop down the "real" wall, which is pretty sheer in this area. The dive shop is run by Naomi and is open from 9 to 5 approx. I can't recall if they have Nitrox or not. The only negative I'm aware of is that they don't allow night dives at all unless you are accompanied by a DM, and they want a group of 6 before assigning one.

hello, can you tell me what travel agent or group offered that package to you? I've just started to put together a trip to GC and was looking into Span.Bay.Reef.

thx much.

We booked thru Cheap Caribbean. I have never used them before. I used the website and then called the 800 # to clarify before I booked. The website price was higher and the operator said when you click select it will show a lower price...which it did.

I used Delta (airlines)vacations 8 years ago. They had them on there list. But then again I cashed in FF miles so we flew for free.

We always use FF miles, but this price seemed great including air and booking only 7 days in advance, so we went for it

Just go up the street(North) to the next place that is a vacant lot and drive in. The main wall is really close here. You can rent cylinders just So of there @ Cobalt Coast/Divetech. They have Nitrox. This is a secluded beach dive that virtually no one does. I found it by accident in the early 80's. Even showed to a Caymanian that did not know it existed. Ivan really built up the sand onshore here.
Good diving;
Bill

Just an FYI that as of 3 weeks ago Divetech have a policy of not allowing their tanks to go offsite. That is a major pain in the butt IMHO

Thanks for the info. For years they would leave em out at night for you with tape around them and your name on it. Divetech was mighty trusting in the past. We used to run a tab with Divetech. Pay at the end of the week. We stayed at private residences and got tanks multiple times a day from them. They used to be easy to deal with. I guess they got burned once too often.
