Anyone dive this combo??? I have been looking around the board but haven't been able to find anything.

I have the Mk25/G250HP setup. It is a very nice reg. The Mk25 is a balanced piston design...the best piston reg around in my opinion. Very durable, excellent hose routing and easy to service. The G250HP is a balanced 2nd stage. Internally it is almost exactly like an S600. (They take the same repair kit actually.) Breathes awesome, no freeflow very reliable.

Great setup overall. I use a Mk25/S600 or a Mk25/G250HP for all my single tank diving. I cannot tell a difference between them.

The MK25 provides ample air at high demand, and the G250HP is reliable and easy to get serviced. Overall, it's a great combo.

Thanks for all the info.. I just bought the set... ($350) great deal from what I have to chose from.. How about parts? What's the going rate for service/rebuild??

If you bought if from a real dealer then parts are free, if not look for around $25 for parts. As for the labor, you'll have to check your area for what the going rates are.

I dive the Scubapro mk20-G250Hp setup and here is my opinion about it. The MK20 or MK25 1st Stage (they are pretty much the same. The MK 25 can have the intermediate pressure adjusted externally without a conversion kit.) and a G250HP 2nd Stage. I have the MK/20-G250Hp setup and it has been an excellent regulator for me. I do quite a bit of deep diving (over 100FT), drift diving, and “cool water” diving and I have never had a problem as far as reliability or in an over breathing situation. I would describe this regulator setup in a few words as: WORKHORSE, RELIABLE, EASY TO SERVICE, GREAT BREATHER, ROBUST (you know it’s in your mouth, it’s not a tiny regulator. Some people prefer a regulator that has something to grab onto.)

You will see quite a few people on this board recommend Scubapro, APEKS, and Atomic. All three of these companies provide some of the best scuba regulators in the business. From my own personal experience with Scubapro, I can tell you that I have nothing but praise for their products, especially the MK/20-G250HP regulator setup.

If you can, try to rent or borrow a friend’s regulator and give them a try in an actual diving situation.

I also have the MK20/G250HP set up. Like smb1014 all I can say is GREAT COMBO!
And yes, the MK25 is just the next generation of this great 1st stage.

I have tried find a hiccup in this set up and have yet to find any situation it does not perform flawlessly and effortlessly.

This included hanging in nearly any direction imagined at the 120 ft. bottom of Gilboa Quarry in Ohio, 36F temperature.
Deep diving...bring it on. Ice Diving - no problem.

A virtually bulletproof setup.

Dive Safe!

Thanks for all the replys. I went and bought the combo last week.. I have yet to dive it though... I'll post a follow up as soon as I get it in the water.
