Where are you diving at on Okinawa? Earlier this year I went to Tokashiki Island and saw three tour guides use them. At that time they told me the fins are pretty darn good. The sales associate at the dive shop in Mihama (American Village) also told me they are pretty good. So according to four people that I talk to it seems like a darn good fin.
 
the newer jet fins with the lighting bolt are physically lighter as well from what I recall. The shape is the same, just a different material.
