The Camera your using Fairybasslet Is a really nice Camera. I dont have issues with it at all. except the fact they are no longer making it. or the housing for it. If I can find some still in stock great. Im upgrading from an old C-770UZ So I thought as long as I was upgrading I would get the SP-590UZ. Which when I was looking was the latest and greatest in this type of catagory. The SP-560UZ still might be an option. I'm also just do it for fun and to show my non diving friends. what is underthe waves. I think your pictures are Excellent. then of course there is the Canon G-10 who knows maybe I will keep my lowely C-770UZ. with its measly 4mgb pixel count. It still works well. and I have gotten to where I take pretty descent pictures with it.

I do not know why they discontinue models so quickly. Planned obsolescence? I bought two 560's in case I flooded one on vacation. I know from experience on a liveaboard in the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea what a bummer that is.
I didn't realize they discontinued the housing too. Good thing I didn't mess mine up when it fell out of the back seat of a truck onto the pavement recently.:shocked2: It was good to at least 90 fsw after that.

Hi Fairybasslet, great photos and I've been lusting for the SP 590 UZ, but can't find a housing designed for it. What brand & model # is yours?

Thanks. I have the Olympus housing, the P-037 I think.. I'm not good at remember stuff like that.

In fact, I'm met quite a few people on trips with the same camera and housing. It is a good little housing (well, it's kind of big) but it seems to be more sturdy than the Pt-027 that went with the Oly 7070 that I flooded.

I looked at the SP 560 in Singapore when I first went looking for a new set up and the guys at DPreview said that the shutter lag would drive me crazy. Seems that wasn't totally true.

It is kind of nice to have everything you need in one lens and for the average photographer which is the majority, it looks like it does the job. I dont think they sold many and the one I looked at was heavily discounted.

Ended up with the e520 and I am happy with that.
