Took the 07:00am Ocean Jet from Ferry Terminal 1 in Cebu to Maasin. Fare was P1,100.00 in a fiercely cold tourist class section. Upper deck with open air is cheaper.
The journey took about 3hrs and arrived at Maasin just after 10:00am. Walk to the main road and hopped to a non AC bus bound for San Ricardo, fare was P70.00 and dropped right outside Peter's.
The port is about 1km from the multi cab terminal.

Whaleshark watching: Happy snorkellers saw one.

Weather overcast with few spots of rain but no wind.
Jun's Pinnacle
Small drama on descend!
My corrugated hose came lose from the plain elbow. I did not realize at first but when I tried to add air nothing happened. Tried it few more times with the result. So I tried orally inflating it but..... By that time the dm swam over and told me to stop doing anything. Eventually the issue was fixed and the dive was continued. We were nearly at the bottom 37m.
When we were back to the boat, the dm told me that the corrugated hose came off.
I changed the two cable ties used to bound the hose to the elbow.

Napantao North
I really like this site particularly the giant sea fans, relatively deep as well. Current can be strong as well.

I am going to be there in April. I just booked 5 days in Malapascua I plan on heading to Southern Leyte for whale sharks after Malapascua. Please share where you are staying and shop you are using.

Blue sky and sunny.
Gunther's Wall
Adrian's Cove
Two lovely dives, very healthy hard coral at the top.

I am afraid the snorkellers were very disappointed. The boat did'nt return until 16:00, tried very hard but no luck at all.

Nice weather.
Napantao North and South.
Personally I prefer the North because of the sea fans. There are also big sea fans in the South but just a wee bit less impressive.
Visibility was not as good as yesterday.
Water temp was about 26-27C over last three days so a bit cool for me.

No whaleshark again for the snorkellers!! The boat went inside of the bay but still no luck.

Overcast, stiff wind and wave.
Max Climax
Medic Care North
Caaga(shore dive) in the afternoon.

Max Climax was a bit anti climax!! Lots of destruction in the shallow.
Medic Care N was completely opposite, very very healthy hard coral of various kinds. Last year I saw four big green turtles but this time one which was having lunch.
Caaga. This is excellent if you like macro.

No luck for the whaleshark! Three days in a row, most unusual.

Overcast but calm sea.
Jun's Pinnacle
Olly's Wall.

Really need experienced dm to point out the tiny interesting creatures eg those very small nudibranch. A small magnifier will be extremely useful.

Leaving for Cebu tomorrow afternoon.
Looking forward to my next trip to Koh Lanta and Koh Lipe next week.

Thank you for your suggestion on both Malapascua and Southern Leyte. You have been a great help in planning this trip. I am currently in contact with Peter's Dive resort. I had actually thought I could not make Southern Leyte happen due to lodging. I was not finding anything online. I was planning to do Coron even though I am not a huge wreck enthusiast unless the wreck if completely overgrown and I was not seeing that in the videos.

I am loving your daily updates!

Thank you again.

Sogod Bay Scuba Resort is very near to Peter's.
Burgos Reef is the latest addition in the area. An up market resort but no diving is being offered.

Couple of the shallow wrecks in Coron are covered with coral eg Okikawa Maru. However, not much point of diving in Coron if you are not really interested in wreck.
Barracuda lake is another attraction in Coron.
