Union Lake was up to 45 Deg F today. its been 41 for the past few weeks, and I in my 7mm FJ felt every bit of it. Now with the sun and 4 degree increase its downright pleasant.

I was there as well today. Had a great time cleaning up the lake. I dove wet as well. James from Sea The World now addresses me as "Sir" every time he sees me. :rofl3: He couldn't believe that I was in for 33 minutes in a wetsuit.

Hm, I must have run into you there then at the cleanup dive on Sunday. The sun and 78 degree air temp certainly helped make getting out of the water a lot more comfortable.

Same as the little mudpuddle I dove on Sunday in Goodrich. Upper 40s near surface, lower 40s at 25 ft.

If a may ask, where is Union Lake? Crossroads? Zip?

Thanks,
Ken

The boat launch entrance is just south of cooley lake road on union lake Road.

Be sure not to park in the boat launch parking lot, but in the lot across the street, and it is best if instead of entering the water from the boat ramp you enter from the right side of it on the grassy shore so there is less interference with the boaters launching their vessels.

Be sure to have a dive flag as the Oakland County Sheriff (The deputies we've seen there are friendly and decent folks but they are going to uphold the law on the lake) is patrolling the lake heavily and will ticket if you don't have one.

Great lake, lots of fish, lines to follow out to sunken boats and various other attractions, its a great place to practice.
