That is a bit of an exageration I would say also. It does get that rough, but not this time of year normally. I was there a bit over a year ago when it got that rough, provided for a fun time. 3 foot seas are pretty much the norm when we go in March. No big deal at all.

This is the week we were there in March 2006.http://docksidedivecenter.com/WeeklyLog031706.html

HowieDean:
Please believe me that both the NORTH and SOUTH both have some increadable dive sites - I have been to some breath-taking sites on both sides that most dive ops never dive............
HowieDean:
We plan on returning in about 60 days. We will use CocoNut Tree Divers again, but I do want to get to the south side once and also want to try the NE area. I know that Subway has a shop on the central north shore and heard great things about them.

Who would you suggest using for a one day trip on the south side?

Sunday 05/06 and Monday 05/07 the boats were a rockin so that is why we did shore dives those days. I wouldn't say 8' but anything that is more than a ripple is too much for me to enjoy. Tue and Wed it was pretty calm. The AM dive on thursday we went to ?? calvin's crack (I'm pretty sure) and then got dropped at the PA. I am guessing the swells were maybe 3' - 4', but almost enough to make me lose my breakfast. I am a boat wimp! :)

rleslie - 60 days, eh? We're heading back for two weeks at Christmas. It was great meeting you and your wife - hopefully we will cross paths again! As soon as I finish cutting and editing I'll send you a link to the video and stills we took - we've got some great vids of you going through the swimthrus!

It was interesting to see the CoCoView boats moored right in front of West End. I'll have to find a photo to put up for RoatanMan - I guess the folks on those boats are missing all the wonders of the south side! :P

Look forward to seeing the pics. I guess I'll have to break down and get a camera before our next trip. I know that your lovely wife got her Wreck specialty, did you complete yours or did the "string incident" hold you up? :rofl3:

Tell Sarah we said hello and we really enjoyed meeting and diving with you!!

Roger

I was waiting for you to bring that up. I have some nice video of you silting up the swimthrus as payback!

Yes, we both finished Wreck, Nitrox, and Deep. The "string incident" was a good learning experience. I'm actually shopping for reels at the moment and will be logging several hours in the quarry getting the hang of them. We'll be doing Rescue over the summer and plan on doing Cavern on our next dive trip.
