Well it was HOT! we boarded the boat at 6:30 and it was already 82 degrees. We went 27 miles south to a wreck off chincoteague va that does not get much pressure. We were treated to flat seas and HOT temps. We arrived in time to find some of the local slayer talent out of chincoteauge allready anchored up sooo, we pulled up the plotter and threw a dart at another dot on the screen 6 miles further south.
We arrived to find the dot covered up with bass pots and the fish finder blinding. Current was nill so hooking in proved to be as easy as heaving it over and opening the pool. The top was crystal blue and 80 degrees down to 15fsw. At the 52 fsw mark it closed out to a gloomy funk but opened back up to a hazy 35 foot of vis at 85 fsw.
Temps on the botom at 107fsw were a pleasant 58 degrees. Wreck was a wooden oldie and very broken up. Those that did not run reels, wished that hey had. Taug, sea bass and lobs were plentifull. I did one long soak with a 65 minute run time on 25/20, and 70. Everyone else did to shorts. I went backin to pull the hook and conditions were sooo good I wound up doing another 30 min. lol
A great day overall, sure beats working
