A couple of friends and I are going to South Africa and want to know about any recommendations for a Safari trip. We will be staying in Dyer Island for the shark dives and Near Cape Town. Any info would be great!

Yes, unfortunately Cape Town and the Kruger National Park, arguably the two biggest attractions in South Africa are at opposite sides of the country. That said, South Africa is not particulary big and a the flight takes no more than a couple of hours.

As shoturtle said, KNP is probably the best place in the country for safaris and depending on how much you're willing to spend there are various options. Let me know if you need specific pointers. You might also want to consider northern KwaZulu-Natal though. Places like Hluhluwe, Bonamanzi, Mkuze, Phinda etc. come to mind. The advantage of those is that they're only a chip and a put from Sodwana Bay, one of the real diving hotspots of South Africa.
