I know there are some cleaning fluids that you can pick up at your LDS that will remedy that problem for around $6-$8.

There are some other methods but they kind of slipped my feeble mind right now.:06:

Soak it in water with shampoo tonight, then pick up the stuff from your LDS to do it again tomorrow night.

Soaking the bc in shampoo does no damage?
Not to my knowledge - got that idea from my OW Inst, been doing it for a few years.

One of the more experienced divers may post soon, but it's late across much of the US - so probably not tonight. So for now, I know this will help some. Soak for an hour, rinse, let it dry until you can wash with the special stuff.

Simple Green.......

I'd just rinse it and let it dry first. That smell might just go away. If it still stinks after rinsing and drying, then use some kind of wetsuit cleaner.

It won't go away, it will only be freshed by getting wet again. Thats bad. Mild solution of simple green is the single best thing out there.

:14: All I can say is I went to Florida and on the way back oh my my BC smelled. I washed it several times and it still smelled like something died in it. My wetsuit also smelled everything that was in contact with it. After washing everything my wetsuit stopped smelling but my BC still did smell. I finally after my wife yelled at me to put it outside it was stinking up the whole closet, I checked the pockets real good and found a small shell that I picked up for HER about the size of a dime. That was the source of the smell. I washed it a couple of times putting my wifes favorite smell good shampoo :D in the pockets, then rinsed it till no more soap came out. I let it dry and no more smell. Just my $.02

woolite also is trecomended as a cleaning solution
