Since lots of people who visit cayman rent cars, I figure this will be of interest to some members.

I just updated the maps on my Garmin GPS and the new maps for North America now have all the roads and points of interest for Cayman (all 3 islands ; have only tested Grand Cayman though). The main hotels are all in there as are home address. I just gave it a spin this morning from my place to where I was diving and it was perfect and got all the roundabouts correctly.

Cheers

My 2 yr old Garmin had Grand Cayman maps. It was a life-saver the first few days not having to navigate and drive on the wrong side of the road.

Interesting! My previous maps only had Cayman as a gray mass with no roads. In any case, its great :)

Can you give us more details? I just updated my Nuvi and GC is still a black mass.

What map version do you have? Mine is version is "2011.20". Check Tools-Settings-Maps-Map settings.

However, I suspect you may have US maps only. I have North American maps which includes Canada and now Cayman and even some of the other Caribbean islands.

Like Bob said, much of the fun of a new island is getting lost and finding your way out. Unless you really need to get somewhere! Then this would be great, especially in the twisty West Bay area roads.

I agree with Jane, we've spent a bunch of time on Grand Cayman but it still would be great to have easy access to road info. I might have to go buy a Garmin...!

Roombaguy; dude, you live there. Tell us you don't get lost! Seriously, thanks for the info, it'll help a lot of folks.
