Just signed up to take classes in july. This board was very informative. I had a lot of questions that were pretty much answered by doing searches. I have allergies so, obviously that was a question. And second, I would rather do my OW in warm water and not a quarry. Anyhoo, I am looking forward to reading more posts here as I learn more.

Welcome to the board tiggrr and I am sure you are going to love your new hobby.....As far as your certification goes, you can do the paper work at home and get your dives done in a warmer climate....It's called OW referral . Ask your instructor about it...Looking forward to reading more posts from you!
Aloha,

tiggrr, Hi. I new to the boards and new to diving. I've found a lot of good info here just by reading. Most everyone seems personable and ready to help if needed. From what I can tell, the MODS are good and ready to assist. I beleive you'll love your new hobby.I know I do. I'm actually thinking of moving close to the ocean so I can dive more.

tiggrr and Scuba Duke. Welcome to the board and to the diving. Hope you will have fun at both

welcome. Have no fear, my girlfriend has bad allergies also and just finished her open water certification. She claims that nothing cleans the sinuses out better than a little time in the ocean. As for diving in the quarry, I would suggest taking the open water dives locally if you can stand it. This way, you can become at least a little familiar with your local diving. And, if you decide to never dive cold again at least it is an informed decision. Good luck with your class. Read those books! But most of all have fun! :D
