there's the HF20 and and HF200 that work with the WP-V1 housing. I'd be a little wary of the 130' limit and I just saw a youtube video about modifications to it to improve the balance, evidently it's not well balanced. You want something that remains relatively stable in the water so you can concentrate on your subject, not fighting the housing.

my .02

Watch that video a little more closely. It wasn't balanced because HE added a wide angle to the front of the housing. I love his idea of using stick on wheel weights inside the housing, though.

I bet for most folks, the hf200/wpv1 works just fine, and it comes in under a grand.

Oops you're right, I corrected my earlier post. The OP indicated he was considering buying the WP80 for the Ikelite, I assumed he might also be interested in something similar for the WP-V1.

I'd still be concerned about the small relative size of the unit, it's extremely handy but shooting u/w sometimes having a larger mass means steadier pans and overall smoother footage. I've shot both a poly housing and a metal housing and there's a difference.

He also makes reference to it being bouyant early in the narrative before his mod, if it is I'd correct that with the bike weights. And there's some discussion of the same problem here by the person who did the modifications video: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/un...274087-canon-wp-v1-housing-5.html#post4721425

Personally I like my housings just slightly negative - not enough so that you're having to consciously hold the camera up - but enough so that if dropped they slowly sink.

For most folks using their housed P&S camera in video mode works just fine......
