You need something better than a cheap SLR to feel any difference, the sensor of that canon has even got less dynamic range and color depth

The Canon 100D is NOT worth housing, either from a hassle or a price perspective as its just not a good DSLR. To be satisfied with the investment in a DSLR setup you need to look into something more than entrylevel...
