I just upgraded to the Sony HC9 and Ikelite housing. I am looking for help from anyone that currently has this setup on any techniques or settings that people have found that work better than others.

I upgraded from an Hi8 with ikelite housing that has no options. Everything from focus to white balance was always set to Auto.

Thanks, I am going to Belize at the end of July want to be prepared.

The best thing you can do is get used to how certain functions work on the surface, and then apply them underwater. Of course this will only apply to those functions that the housing can access.
White balance is probably going to be one of the most useful functions. Use it on the surface as much as possible so you are used to how well it works in different situations.

We have the HC7 and the two things we found crucial to know is how to MWB quickly and move between manual and auto focus.

If I do manual white balance do I use the red filter? From everything I have read it looks like I need to do the MWB everything I change Depth? Looks Like I have lots of practice before I get in the water...
