actually, i usually don't snorkle, cause i'm diving.
but once in a while i'm with some people that don't dive, kids mostly.
and that could be where ever.
i guess the way i learned it might actually be called skin diving.
it was actually part of open water scuba training.
if you time it right you're only at the surface for a split second.
but anyway, lots of people just float on top, they actually make an inflatable vest for it,
and they do get badly sunburned if not careful.
even if you did that i'd still be weary of the 5 foot max.
as far as leaky housings, i've never had a problem.
but, i do know it's all about o-ring care and maintenance,
and i am very careful to make sure it's clean, scratch free and properly lubed.
a grain of sand or a single hair could do you in.
