Hi. I've just purchased a single Inon D2000w strobe and will be trying it out with my Oly 5060 camera in PT-020. I've read the manual but its my first time to use a strobe and I still have many questions;

1) I'll be using an optical D cable instead of an electrical synch cord. Do I still need to clean and grease the synch connector cap o-ring after diving or would it be better to just leave it alone for now.

2) For PNS pre-flash cameras like the 5060, will it be better to use the strobe in STTL mode or external auto mode? If STTL, should I start with STTL (as was suggested in the manual) or STTL-Low?

3) Is it possible to use the strobe when in "supermacro" mode? If so, what strobe and camera settings can you suggest?

4) In STTL setting, should the ISO be 100 (as was suggested in the manual) or can I use a lower ISO (ex 80 for 5060)?

5) Would you recommend using the focus light for most shots? I was wondering if (in some situations) aiming the strobe directly at the subject may result in more backscatter?

6) When shooting in macro, would it be better to use a diffuser? If so, will it be necessary to adjust the strobe settings?

7) Are there situations when it would be better not to cover the camera's flash with the clear photo film?

8) Is it possible to use the strobe in external auto or manual even without activating the "advanced cancel circuit" (not putting in the magnet). I was wondering if one could switch form STTL to auto/ manual while underwater.

I'm no techie and reading the 2 manuals gave me a giant headache. I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance.
