Soma Bay in July - Any tips?

I'm booked for the Sheraton Soma Bay, planning to dive with Orca -
there for 11 nights Sunday to the following Thursday.

Need advice on where to eat, what to expect.
The website indicates most boat trips are 2 dives/day - which I guess leaves time for the house reef.
Considering doing a day trip to Luxor for a surface interval. Opinions?

Soma Bay consists of big resorts and hotels, so you'll be more or less inside your hotel. The nearest city is Safaga, 15 to 20 KM to the south.

book your stay all inclusive ... it will save you a lot of hassle

Unfortunately, the all inclusive package is "unavailable" for the dates I'm going. I did get an excellent deal with my corporate rate, so hopefully it'll balance out.

check at the front desk when you arrive for different options you have: all inclusive (they might have it on by that date or even can be available at the front desk) vs. full board vs. half board...
I think it will be ok anyway ... enjoy your stay
