How cool is this.....

I found a website that you can book Insel Air on from Miami to Bonaire...how cool is that!

Go to Airline Tickets, Cheap Flights, Cheap Plane Tickets, Hotels, Car Rentals - CheapOair
Put in Miami to Bonaire (I used May 7-15, 2009) Thursday to Thursday

OK HOLD ON TO YOUR SEATS: $264.00 (plus taxes) RT

You can't beat that one!

They are also having a sale ($5.00 off - hey something is better than nothing right?)

You can book and pay right on the website!

INSEL FLYS: THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SUNDAY AND MONDAY

HOLY MOLY!!!!!!

Thanks for letting us know Liz. Sounds like a pretty good deal for those in the Southern U.S. or if you need the flexibility of leaving on a day besides Saturday and Sunday.

For those of you who want to know the details (which may make the offer less appealing):

The taxes amount to $143.33. Minus $10 for a promotion and the total price is $397.33. You have to stop in Curacao for a 4-hour layover as well. That makes a total trip time of 11.5 hours on the way to Bonaire. The total returning trip time is much less due to a smaller layover.

Just thought I'd pass on the details.

No problem, and you are welcome! For some reason I think the taxes and fees vary because a few days ago they were around $118!!!

I don't think it makes it less appealing though, for some. It gives an individual the ability to stay more than one week and less than two...that is huge for some people. I also remember the days when we would take Continental from Newark to Miami and then island hop on ALM to Bonaire...talk about timing, but then it was the only way to get to Bonaire!!!

If you don't like the 4 hour layover, it can be arranged to book into Curacao and take an earlier flight on Divi, EZ Air or DAE.

What I also didn't state, and probably should have is that if the plane sells enough seats to Bonaire, you won't have to change planes, just stay on the flight and then the MD will triangle to Bonaire. I cannot, for proprietary reasons, tell you that this is definitely, but IMHO, they will be doing the triangle sooner than later permanently (May?????)

The layover on the way back is 1.5 hours, so yes it is considerably less time.

I was just giving another option to others who might have wanted it. Oh, and for the record, I am not in anyway associated with Insel. Just passing info.

Thanks for the information Liz. The best airfare we ever had to Bonaire was $396 on Air Jamacia in 2003. W've been flying AA out of Orlando since Air Jam started having all their problems. The four hour layover on Curacao isn't a issue if you've been used to flying AA through San Juan. ;) More than likely we'll give Insel Air a go. Thanks again. :palmtree: Bob
