Solomons November/December 2012
The Solomons is without a doubt one of the most unique Island groups in the Pacific and one which never fails to disappoint any dive traveler. This 2012 Ten night tour is scheduled for November 24 - December 4 and will include all our favorite regions and dive sites in the "land that time forgot". The Solomons is truly one of the most diverse and adventurous dive destinations in the world and still one of the my groups favorite dive tours.

Our itinerary will include diving at Mary Island, the Russell's, several sites throughout Marovo Lagoon, Florida Islands and end with a scenic cruise down Boli Pass. We will also include land visits to some of the best wood carving villages found in the Pacific where you will have an opportunity to shop and visit with the native villagers. For those of you who have been to the Solomons with Blue Kirio before, you know just how special this destinations is and why it has always been a group favorite. For anyone who has not traveled and dove here before, I can guarantee it will be a trip you will not be disappointed with and one you will never forget.

For this tour we will again be aboard the Bilikiki which is a 125 x 27 foot vessel manned by 13 friendly and helpful crew. All diving is from "tinnies" (skiffs) and done in a drift type manner. For the most part the diving in the Solomons is very easy and usually sports good to excellent visibility. The water should be between 82-85 F and generally calm during this time of year.

For those who have been here before you are well aware of the variety that Solomon Islands diving offers. From large schooling barracudas and big-eye jacks at Mary Island to the critter/muck dives at well known sites in the Florida's and the Russell's where we commonly find a variety of ghost pipefish, mantas shrimp, pigmy seahorses and many other rare and unusual marinelife species.

Of course, though the diving here is outstanding, what makes the Solomons such a unique tour compared to other world class dive destinations, is the people. No where else on the planet is there a dive destination which so seamlessly combines the opportunity to enjoy the friendly interaction with the local villagers and dive such pristine reefs daily. The Solomons is truly a National Geographic experience and one I always look forward to returning to.

Travel itinerary: Presently the airline schedule is set up in a way that we can depart LAX on Nov 22 and take a direct 10 hour flight into Nadi Fiji, Arriving Nov 24. After a 3 hour layover, we will continue onto Honiara, Solomon Islands, arriving approximately 10:30 AM on Nov 24.

For the return: We will depart the Solomons on December 4, transit through Fiji and continue onto LAX, arriving approximately 1:30 pm Dec 4.
