Hi: I am thinking about going on a liveaboard to the Socorro Islands next year. But I am concerned about El Nino. Does anyone have informations/links about how heavy will be the impact (regarding sharks) of El Nino on the Socorros next year. Thanks

I maybe confused on this but isn't this an el nino year right now?? I thought it lasted about a year so by the next season for Socorro (Nov 2010) it should be over. I was in Socorro back during the 1997 el nino in Nov. Main problem was it was very windy so that limited dive sites. But we still saw the usual pelagics (mantas sharks). I might add that the 97 el nino was classed as strong and I am not sure what this one is classed as.
