I should probably put this in some equipment forum, but nothing looked right.
So here's my deal...

I wear a very thin skin under my wetsuit to make getting in and out of it easier. The biggest problem I have is getting my boot on and off (I have leg issues). I figured I would try a very thin sock skin under my boot, but lo and behold my search came up empty.
Has anyone ever heard of such a thing, or know where I can find them?

Thanx in advance!

Robert

I use polypropalene socks under my wetsuit boots. They are very thin. I got mine at REI. Otherwise, a seam in the boot tends to rub my foot raw after a few consecutive days of diving. I don't think they make it any easier to get to boot on/off, but maybe.

Yes they make socks. My buddy wears them. Not sure where he gets them though.

I wear socks under my boots but for comfort, not ease of removal (for the boot). I would however expect that if your boot fits well, you would still get lots of suction and resistance to removal. I also dive with a dive skin under my suit, and I find it helps getting the suit on more than it helps getting it off. I am interested to see what everybody else says here. If you try it, let me know how it works out.

My LDS sells a thin neoprene sock that Deep See makes. Here's a link.

I know a few divers who need half size boots ( 8 1/2 or 9 1/2 ) that use them to help their boots fit. They seem to like them.
Good luck,

Yes, I think you can't avoid the 'suction effect' of the boots. I think socks might even make a better seal, making the suction worse.

In cold water I dive with neoprene socks under my boots. They are thick, though, and don't make it any easier to get the boots off.

I've also worn regular socks under my boots due to raw feet on a dive vacation and there was no ease in getting the boots off.

Thanx for all the replys so far. The real hassle for me is getting them on. I can get the thing off by just stepping on the heel with the other foot if I have to.

REI sounds like it's worth checking out!
