Did not gp diving but I felt cheated. I stpopped by Shaws Cove on Saturday. The tide was out and minimal surf. I was able to walk from Shaws to Crescent along the rocks. Laguna Sea Sports reported 8 to 10 feet of Viz.

I dove at Redondo Beach today as part of a DM class. Viz was pretty poor (between 3' and 10', depending on your depth), but entry/exit was not an issue. Temperature was about 55. Thankfully, I was wearing a drysuit.

I did not dive, was supposed to go to Santa Barbara Island aboard the Great Escape with Reefseekers, but the boat was canceled due to large, and I mean LARGE swells!!!

I feel cheated as well, for I only get to dive every two weeks when I don't have my kids. Now I will be drydocked for the next two. Ugh... I think I need to get the kiddies certified. LOL

Happy Diving!

We were able to dive the West End of Catalina on Sunday. A bit of a ground swell but it was very diveable. Heading East after the dive we saw a few charter dive boats parked at more protected sites between the West End and the Isthmus.

Went out on the Bottom Scratcher yesterday - what a great day! We did 1 dive on the Valiant and 2 at Italian Gardens, and conditions were great. The trip over was a little rough, but not too bad, and then when we got there the water was flat with approx. 40 foot vis, so it was a really nice day. Actually, the diving was very easy - not much surge at all. Between the approx. 4 people on the boat hunting, they caught 18 BIG lobsters at Italian Gardens and we saw lots of neat wildlife (some of the biggest eels I've ever seen and the most blacksmith fish in one place ever - they were almost "thicker" than the kelp!) so considering I was expecting to be sea sick and have no vis, it was a very pleasant surprise.

Went diving on Sat----Boy were my fingers cold----54 deg. water, glad to be in my drysuit with argon! ----Vis was poor but beach was empty and waves were small. Went to Moss St.
Caught a good size keeper! Went home and gave it away!!!! Ya baby----its nice to live in Ca!

I was thinking about a Sunday morning beach dive, but it never quite gelled.

An instructor friend who did class dives at Leo Carrillo Sunday morning reported 1-ft vis.

Meanwhile a boat captain told me his divers had "awesome vis" (well over 50 ft I guess) at Hen Rock at Catalina Sunday.

We are going out Thursday night off Laguna ---last days to get bugs!!! Join us
