Hello all,
My wife and I are planning a seven night trip to AC with our two children ages 11 & 15. We'll be staying at the Villas at Banyan Bay. Can we snorkel anywhere close by without taking a charter out to the reefs?

Its a shame this hasnt been answered. I am curious about the possibility as well. Of course, I am assuming you can snorkle anywhere but was looking for recommendations for places that stand out.

Banyan Bay is a bit south of town but it still gets fairly heavy boat traffic. You could swim around your dock there and see some small fish perhaps, but it's not advisable to swim out into the boat lane areas which are between the beach and the reef.
