I have a very limited opportunity to do some snorkeling and was hoping for advice to make the most of it. Also, to set my expectations so I'm not expecting too much from it.

I will be staying at the Movenpick Tala Bay for one night. I can either snorkel around 3PM on November 8, or early morning on the 9th. How good is the snorkeling? Who should I go with? How good is the snorkeling right from the beach? Conditions?

Thanks for any advice!

I live just 3 km north of Movenpick, Tala Bay, and you might like to use Google Maps to view the bay area before you arrive.

There isn't much there, but if you walk 2 km north, you will find the fringe reef just off the beach, about 20 yards out, at Yellowstone reef, and go north from there - Tank, Seven Sisters, Gorgonian 2, Gorgonian 1, Japanese Garden, Rainbow Reef, and the Cedar Pride shipwreck just 150 yards offshore of Rainbow Reef (great big mooring ball, can be seen on Google Maps!)

The "Tank" is very shallow, around 6M, and would provide an interesting snorkel
