Hi all.

I am new to diving but I've been snorkeling quite a lot. Me and some friends are going to Sipadan to do some first time diving, and I was just wondering if anyone knows if it is good snorkeling there as well, in case we struggle with the diving...

We'll be staying at the Sipadan Water Village or at the Mabul Water Bungalows. Any reccomondations?

Thank You!

Hi Jenny_21,

There is plenty of diving in areas you won't struggle with, don't worry. But if for some reason you want to skip a dive and snorkel instead, the snorkeling is also pretty good.

Both SWV and Mabul WB are fine places to stay. I personally like SWV. For every diving day SWV gives you a choice of which boat trips to take (for example, two dives at Sipadan and one at Kapalai, or all at Kapalai, or some at Mabul and some at Kapalai, etc.), or you can simply do shore dives off Mabul island.

I'm sure you'll have a great time.
