Sorry if this question has been asked - couldn't find anything doing a search.

Can anyone recommend a good guide for snorkeling in Key West. I know shore entry isn't ideal there. My husband and I are avid snorkelers -- he also dives. We'll be in Key West on a cruise on our anniversary on Thanksgiving Day and would love to celebrate over some good reef.

Thanks!

The snorkeling at Ft. Zachary Taylor is really good, it's on the beach, it's a short walk from the cruise ship dock, and best of all, it;'s free, and you don't have to deal with the same cruise ship passengers you're going to see all week anyway. Or, get on the Fury Catamaran, get free rum punch, snorkel at Sand key with 200 of your closest friends. If the wind is out of the north, don't bother with either place, the visibility will be miserable.

Thanks for the information. Any details about snorkeling out of Ft. Zachary Taylor?

Fort Zach is a great place to snorkel! Lots of fish out by the coral boulders, and occasionally something cool slides by (my wife was thrilled when a small ray came by one time...)

If you want to go out to the reef, I can only recommend Sebago Catamarans!!

They are down by where the Conch Republic Seafood company is located...

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention! When snorkeling at Ft. Zach, swim up to the boulders, and just stay there and DON'T MOVE! When you first swim up, it scares the fish, but after a few minutes, they all come back out! Just a tip!
