I've heard of this too. It is especially helpful after years of underwater snipe hunting.
I don't get it.

A snipe hunt is an old southern hazing tradition;)
I guess that would explain why I didn't know what it was. Come to think of it, I still don't know. :rofl3:

Ok, there are many different versions. Here is the one we used.

You have a group of people in on the hunt with one or two new people who have never been out hunting Snipe.

Due to the fact that their wings are too small for flight, Snipe have become nocturnal and will come out at night. There is a way to attract them with sound. The sound of horseshoes banging together is a common sound that attract Snipe.

Here's the problem... Snipe have adapted hearing similar to bats. They can hear the russtle of clothing, so you have to hunt them in a minimum of clothing (underwear, or better nude except for sneakers)

Everyone separates in their underwear and with their noise makers into the deep woods near the main roads where Snipe are known to come out at night. Also, it's best to agree upon a time to regroup so no one gets lost.

Ok so far?
