Home Depot and Lowes both have stainless bolt snaps. Avoid the plated steels ones. Brass will do, but stainless is better.
 
I bought a snap hook from Home Depot ones before. The snap hook corroded after just half a day of kayaking before I even made it back to shore! And the snap hook was above water; it just got splashed on every now and then by salt spray.
 
The spring is often the issue more than snap itself. I've had problems with some snaps but not others and it's always been the spring.
 
U need to get marine grade ones... Usually the stainless steel one the spring will rust
