Yes but his were TEXAS cottonmouths. Everything is bigger in Texas :wink:. Sorry I couldn't resist. Nothing outside of escaped pythons that size in the USA. In Florida the swamps are getting quite a few of the big boys. Maybe some in Texas too?
 
Yes, it's true, everything is bigger in Texas! haha Take a drive down River Road on the Guadalupe River just outside New Braunfels, TX. Don't be surprised if you have to stop the car to let the monster snake cross the road. I wish I had a photo, but just never thought to photograph something that ugly back then.
 
From the coloration and size of the eyes, the fish in the picture looks to be a longspine squirrelfish. If there is something else in the picture, I can't find it.
